- Halcyons handmade classic motorcycle goggles/ classic aviator enthusiast goggles!
-
- Ultimate comfort – With high-quality soft leather hand stitched over comfortable padded foam, the Halcyon goggles mask moulds perfectly to the contours of your face providing the best possible comfort even on the longest of journeys.
-
- Anti-Misting – The goggle frames have 4 small louvers punched into the metal with the opening facing away from the direction of travel. This allows just enough airflow behind the lens to prevent misting, but not enough to cause irritation to the eyes when travelling at speed or in cold weather conditions.
-
- Classic British Style– The look of Halcyon goggles has remained the same for over 70 years, as first worn by RAF pilots during WWII. Moving through the ages the traditional goggle style has continued to be unique and fashionable whether you are a Classic Motorcyclist, an open-top vintage car owner, a Mod with an old Lambretta or Vespa or even a Steampunk enthusiast.
-
- Unique Features – Over the years Halcyon have introduced some additional features to our Traditional Mark 49 Goggle:
-
- Redesigned Headband Clips –To allow the goggles to be worn over open-face crash helmets while maintaining a close fit to the face
-
- Non-Slip Headband- 3 silicone beads travel around the inside of the elasticated headband to ensure the goggles remain in place against the surface of a motorcycle helmet or when worn over a traditional leather driving helmet or pilot headgear.
-
- Adjustable Nose screw – A high-quality stainless steel threaded screw between the eye frames allows for fine adjustment for the perfect comfort
Made to Last a Lifetime – Most modern goggles and eyewear are mass-produced using plastic moulded components, this is even the case with other traditional style goggles. Halcyon goggles are different, they are made using the same materials and manufacturing techniques that were first used 70 years ago, with dozens of individual operations to take a solid sheet of brass and refine it into the finished product. A considerable amount of time and care is spent on manufacturing a Halcyon goggle all of which is done within our factory in Hertfordshire, England. You will not find a single piece of plastic on our Mark 49 goggles, only chrome-plated brass, stainless steel and real leather – materials designed to last a lifetime.

Halcyon Motorcycle Goggles Review
Motorcycles aren’t always the most practical forms of transport. They are brilliant at some things like city commuting or any sort of road that is at least mildly wiggly but for some things that are a bit lame. Moving house for example. No matter how well your Honda Goldwing or Harley Davidson Streetglide handles the miles it’s carrying capacity is never going to match a van. Of course not being able to help people move house is sometimes an excellent idea.
Motorbikes aren’t always about practicality, sometimes they are just about fun. Which is why people occasionally choose to ride things that aren’t terribly sensible. Riding motorbikes is almost always enjoyable, but you can do things that make it even more fun like buying some Halcyon motorcycle goggles.
They are fairly practical too, in a silly way. They keep the water out of your eyes and while they aren’t exactly idea for winter weather you forgive them that because they are so much fun. On a lovely warm day, when you aren’t in a hurry they are just perfect.
The only drawback I can think of is that putting them on makes me want to attempt some sort of land speed record on a bike powered by steam, or rebuild Chitty-Chitty Bang-Bang as a motorbike.
In short, these goggles are excellent and you should by a pair right now because it will make the world a better place. They come in a range of colours and you can even get tinted lenses if you want to look like some sort of evil time traveller.

Great goggles and still made in Britain
Excellent traditional style of goggle. Very well made and extremely comfortable, with soft leather padding around the eyes. Designed primarily for use with a helmet (the strap has some nifty clips which do a good job of keeping the goggles against your face despite a helmet) and seem to fit well with my Davida Jet. Reasonably easy to adjust, but probably not best suited to small heads. I got used to the split-lens design fairly quickly. Vents do an OK job at reducing misting. The only slightly annoying thing is you are best off removing the lenses to clean them properly inside. If you like this type of goggle then they are definitely worth the money.
