In May of 1943 Royal Air Force Bomber Command 617 Squadron carried out a most unusual and daring raid. Eighteen Lancaster aircraft bombed and breached the great dams in Ruhr Valley lakes.
Ruhr Valley supplied hydro-electrical power to factories. These factories heavily engaged in Germany’s industrial war production.
On the 28th of June 2012, the Royal Air Force unveiled a memorial in Greene Park. Honouring Bomber Command & the 55,537 airmen lost during the Second World War.

I picked up my RAF Bomber Command Mk VIII Goggles at the post office yesterday. Thank you very much for the fast delivery! : )
I’m delighted with the goggles – a stunning piece of traditional british handycraft (#23/250). Compared with my original vintage WWII Mark VIII Goggles (I own a complete one in remarkable good condition with additional tinted replacement lenses and a anti-mist cloth in the original cardboard box with A.M. stamps, dated ca. 1943), your reproduction is spot on – very well done!

I have a Volkswagon type 181 and enjoy driving with the windshield down. I bought these to use and they are great. I also purchased a cheaper pair of halcyon goggles which are high quality and work fine, but I’d like to explain why these are better. The glass lenses are easier to clean and don’t hardly have any glare like the polycarbonate ones do. The leather is soft and doesn’t poke into your skin like the synthetic. The chamois leather is great in the heat as it keeps sweat from dripping in your eyes. The clips are a low profile design that look and feel better, however they probably don’t work well with a helmet. There is one gripe. The “easy pull tabs” look great but don’t really work the as easy pull tabs because of the elastic strap. Also the elastic strap is a bit long and won’t fit smaller heads.
